The Center for Literate Values is a Texas non-profit corporation which is now federally tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the IRS code (as a charity serving educational, artistic, and religious objectives). The Center does not sell subscriptions. Instead, we rely solely upon the donations of our supporters, all of which are now fully tax-deductible.
Consider that the online journal Praesidium requires regular maintenance and upgrading, all of which is very time-consuming and is accomplished strictly through volunteer labor. Even a minimal donation helps us to recruit the good will and hard work which our undertaking requires, for such gifts demonstrate both to the IRS and to potential contributors that we have general public support. Occasionally a benefactor will undertake to match our donations.
Gifts in amounts as low as $5 and $10 are extremely important to our operation. We pay our way as we go: unlike the federal government, we have and honor a policy of never running a deficit. If we need to make an expenditure, therefore, but lack the funds, the need is not addressed. That’s how significant your dollars and dimes are to us. Not a penny is ever paid in salary to any of our volunteers or contributors–all goes to funding The Center’s publishing activities.
The fastest, easiest, and probably safest way to donate is to follow the link to PayPal by clicking on the button below:
Remember our e-mail address–email@example.com (center for literate values president)–in case of complications: occasionally, donors are prompted to type in this address.
If you prefer to send a check or money order, please make it out to The Center for Literate Values or to John Harris (NOT to Praesidium). Address the envelope, likewise, either to The Center for Literate Values or to John Harris, President, and post to:
